Law No. 10/2012 – ‘Regulating the Conditions of Entering, Working and Gaming at Casinos’ – came into effect in November. It raised the minimum age to enter casinos from 18 to 21. The law also states that an individual can apply to exclude himself/herself from casinos, or family members of an individual can apply to exclude him/her from casinos.

Responsible Gambling Promotion 2012

1.Law No. 10/2012 – ‘Regulating the Conditions of Entering, Working and Gaming at Casinos’ – came into effect in November. It raised the minimum age to enter casinos from 18 to 21. 2. Administrative Regulation No. 26/2012 – ‘Regime for the Supply and Requisitioning of Gaming Machines, Equipment and Systems’ – came into effect. It stipulates that gaming machines not fulfilling the requirements must be removed from the community.

3. The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau issued Instruction No. 2/2012 – ‘Responsible Gambling Implementation Measures’ – for operators of games of fortune.

4. The Social Welfare Bureau started the quarterly ‘Collaborative Meeting on Problem Gambling’. The meeting serves as an occasion where problem gambling prevention and treatment centres, relevant community and education organisations can review their work on a regular basis, so that they can work together to plan the future development direction.

5. The ‘Responsible Gambling Kiosk’ testing and evaluation project (Phase One) was launched.
