Responsible Gambling Promotion 2021
1. In order to further improve the quality of RG promotions in Macao, the Responsible Gambling Work Group established the “Responsible Gambling Indicators” (RG Indicators) and implemented them in stages. The Indicators targeted at the relevant RG execution and related supporting facilities of the social service organisation and gaming operators in Macao, examined their levels of compliance, and provided improving plans and continuous regular follow-ups, with the view of facilitating healthy and systematic development of the gaming industry, and concurrently reducing the impact of gambling disorder on each family and the whole society. In 2021, the gambling disorder prevention and control cooperative institutions were assessed. And a total of 12 institutions passed and obtained the obtained the qualification of “Responsible Gaming Model Unit”.
2. In order to expand the publicity channels so that more citizens and tourists are aware of responsible gambling information, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau has recommended casinos to include the Gambling Disorders Helpline or responsible gambling information on their membership cards or e-accounts issued to the public. All gaming operators have been actively co-operating in this endeavour.
