Responsible Gambling Promotion 2015
1. Representatives from relevant government departments, academia and the gaming industry, after discussions, reached the consensus of using the Chinese term ‘賭博失調’ as the translation of (gambling disorder, (DSM-5) in Macao.
2. A 24 hours gambling counselling hotline as well as three new games and animations about gambling myths were installed on ‘Responsible Gambling Kiosk 2.0’.
3. The ‘Smart Financial Promotion Plan’ was launched for Primary 4 to Primary 6 students in Macao.
4. Members from relevant government departments and non-profit organisations went to Hong Kong to attend the 4th Asian Pacific Problem Gambling and Addiction Conference 2015, including joining the pre-conference workshops.
5. The SAR Government officially started the interim review of gaming liberalisation for games of fortune, with one of the objectives to review the fulfilment of corporate social responsibility by gaming operators, including how they implemented the guidelines on responsible gambling.
6. Following the launch of two professional certificate programmes in 2014, the English class of ‘Certificate in Macau Responsible Gambling Advisor’ was introduced in 2015.
7. A supervision training course for students of the first ‘Professional Certificate in Gambling Counselling (Macau)’ was organised.
8. Under the sponsorship of the Social Welfare Bureau and Galaxy Entertainment Group, Sheng Kung Hui Gambling Counselling and Family Wellness Centre held ‘The Way out of Problem Gambling’ micro movie premiere.
